Count to 100 Everyday to Boost your Performance


By increasing your level of concentration, you can increase your rate of performance. This is because concentration is perhaps your best tool when it comes to productivity, and yet 99% of sport and fitness enthusiasts will underestimate its power.
Research has demonstrated that people find it extremely difficult to concentrate on anything for longer than 45 minutes. In fact, most people's concentration will begin to lapse after just 5 or 10 minutes of starting something.

Let's take the gym for instance. During those ten minutes of the treadmill, do you find the couple nattering on the exercise bikes a nuisance? They're distracting you from reaching your full potential, so the trick is to block them out. But how? How about a football match, or a game of cricket? How do you ignore those heckles from the crowd, or disregard the comments from the other team? Well, it's all a matter of focus.

The trick is to learn to count to 100.
Now we're not suggesting that you don't know how to count to 100.  What we mean is that by learning to count to 100, as a form of meditative exercise, it will help to enhance your level of focus and concentration.

Once a day, before you go to the gym or start a match, find a comfortable spot by yourself. Close your eyes and breathe slowly and deeply, through your nose, in turn activating your diaphragm.

Begin counting every time you inhale. Your target is to count to 100. If you lose track of your number, restart the process at one.  If you lose track again, restart it again at one. Do this three times, and if you still haven't succeeded in reaching 100, write down the number you get to and try again the next day. We guarantee this number will begin to rise!

If thoughts pop into your head during this time, run with them. By allowing this natural process to continue, you will soon be able to count to 100 without any distraction whatsoever.

Lastly, keep at it. This form of meditation develops over time, and will produce more effective results the longer you continue it. And before long, this newfound focus will have you smashing your records at the gym, and quashing your opponents!
