The Autumn Fitness Fashion Edit

You may have noticed from our previous article, which looked at Foot Locker’s #DontGoUnnoticed campaign, that the Autumn colours of choice, as far as fitness fashion is concerned, are unequivocally black and red. Call us forward thinkers, but it looks like Be An Athlete were once again light-years ahead (just look at that logo at the top of your screen)! As such, today’s style round-up is made primarily of these shades, and we have to admit, when things look as strong as this, we hope its next season’s trend, too!

1. Oppo PM-3 Headphones

Weighing in at just over 10 ounces, the PM-3s are the world's lightest closed-back planar magnetic headphones – FACT - making them the ideal choice for those wanting to listen to high quality audio on the go.

Thanks to some exquisite workmanship, they provide deep bass, a smooth midrange and crystal clear treble – all in all, a music lover’s dream – but the ergonomic design means they are also a pleasure to wear, and look nothing short of magnificent in both the black and white colourway designs. Your ears aren't even ready!

2. Y-3 Qasa Neoprene High-top Sneakers

"The shoe with a cult following" is how Y-3 describes its 'Qasa' sneakers, and it’s not difficult to see why. Crafted from spongy neoprene, this slick black pair is kitted out with elastic straps, leather trims and snug sock liners, all of which ensure that not only do they look amazing, but feel amazing, too. As they say, look good, feel good, but these shoes take it literally.

3. Yohji Yamamoto YY5006 Sunglasses

The new Yohji Yamamoto eyewear range has been built on the foundation of the designer’s original three word mantra: ‘Dramatic, avant-garde and/or intelligent.’ And while most pairs of spectacles probably couldn’t be described as ‘intelligent,’ unless of course they’ve come straight out of Google, it’s safe to say that this capsule collection is definitely dramatic, in an avante-gardy sort of way (of course!).

Finished in a bespoke acetate, with monochromatic lenses, Yohji’s once again proved why black will always be the new black.

4. Wigwam Ironman® Velocity Pro Sock

When a pair of socks come with a two year guarantee, you know they’re good. But when said pair of socks have also been specifically designed to withstand the Ironman Course (one of the toughest triathlons in the world), you definitely know they’re good. So it’s no surprise that these Wigwam stunners are blister free, odour free, and keep your feet dry with Wigwam’s patented ULTIMAX® moisture wicking technology.

5. Converse Horizontal Zip Rucksack

Converse sneakers are well known for their no nonsense appeal, with the design having hardly changed since its 1917 inception. So it’s no wonder that this same understated, classic aesthetic has now followed through to the brand's accessory range, too.

The Converse Black Rucksack has all the ingredients, including a large central compartment with a two-way zip, an integrated laptop pouch, a fully padded back and bottom panel, a zipped front pocket, and adjustable padded shoulder straps, not to mention a hand strap at the top. Chuck would have been proud!

6. Be An Athlete Fitted Baseball Cap

Building on our best-seller, this updated version of the Be An Athlete Baseball Cap introduces a mesh texture for even better breathability, while the new fitted design provides a level comfort like you’ve never known it!

7. The Chilly’s Bottle

Combining the convenience of a plastic water bottle with the capability of your traditional flask, the Chilly’s Drink Bottle uses advanced double-wall vacuum technology to keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours, and hot drinks hot for 18 hours. Not only this, but it’s also leak proof, preserves flavour and freshness, doesn’t form a layer of condensation around it (meaning it won’t destroy absolutely everything else in your bag), and looks infinitely cooler than either an old, label-faded, slightly iffy smelling, battered coke bottle, or your train spotter-beloved Thermos flask!

8. Moto 360 Smart Watch

The Moto 360 Smart Watch has been classically designed, meaning it doesn’t look like something straight out of a Star Trek convention, and yet manages to deliver on the technical front, too, having been integrated with the Android Wear ™ operating system. So not only does it look great with a suit, but you can also check the weather, monitor your heart rate, receive accurate directions to your next meeting, and even send a text. And the fact that it’s voice activated means you can do all that without even touching it, so that gorilla glass can remain thumbprint free – are there two finer words in the English language?

Let us know in the comment box below if you’d rock the black and red look, and if not, what colours you are feeling for this coming season?
